If you are passionate about trees, are looking to develop a career in Arboriculture and want to make a real difference through input on a varied range of projects across the UK, then look no further.

About the Role
We are looking for an Arboriculturist to join our growing team at our Milton Keynes office where your main role will be supporting our Principal Arboricultural Consultant in a range of planning related projects across the country. This will involve carrying out BS5837:2012 surveys and tree condition assessments for a broad range of clients operating across a wide range of vibrant sectors. RPS is a multidisciplinary company and you will therefore be required to work collaboratively with other departments and offices to achieve the best possible results for our clients. You will also produce high quality reports such as Tree Condition Reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessments and Arboricultural Method Statements, associated CAD/GIS plans and you will input arboricultural advice into the EIA process. The role provides great variety with a good blend of site and office based work.

About You
Suitable candidates will have a minimum Level 3 in Arboriculture / National Diploma in Arboriculture or equivalent and at least 1 years’ experience in arboriculture / forestry undertaking tree surveys and hazard assessments. Experience working in urban and rural environments is preferred as is the ability to assess work required, set priorities and deliver within agreed timescales. You will have good communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work well both individually and as part of a team. There are excellent opportunities to progress to a senior level within the team and career development is actively encouraged through CPD and progression within professional bodies. Experience dealing with the public is required as well as working with clients and colleagues in other disciplines. The ability to write reports and present findings to others is a key element of this role and hence good skills in Microsoft Office are essential. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS or database tree management systems would be advantageous, but training can be provided. Occasionally, jobs may fall outside designated working hours, so flexibility is also preferred. Full UK driving licence is required.
