Team Leader / Analyst

LOCATION: South West Water Region
WORKING HOURS: 37.50 hours per week

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Team Leader / Analyst is responsible for the day to day management, supervision, monitoring and support the Leakage Technicians and the provision of services in accordance with our Contract with South West Water. The Team Leader reports directly to the Project Manager and will liaise continuously with South West Waters Area Leakage Performance Managers.

• Drive, supervise, mentor, and support the Leakage Technicians daily and provide the service in accordance with the contract.
• Performance Manage Leakage Teams.
• Participate in regular meetings with the client’s Area Leakage Performance Managers to discuss project progress/efficiency.
• Liaise with the client’s Area Leakage Performance Managers on a regular basis to ensure effective use of field resource.
• Attend meetings with and in the absence of the Project Manager.
• Carry out Integrated Management Systems duties, e.g. Site Based audits, BEST Observations.
• Ensure adequate and accurate completion of all paperwork (including reports, timesheets, survey forms, leak details etc.).
• Provide technical support to the SWW Ltd. community.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of Leakage Event responses.
• Deputise for the Project Manager in their absence.
• Ensure that customer facing excellence is maintained.
• Adherence to company policy and practices at all times, especially relating to Health and Safety.
• Undertake training as required to fulfil the role of Team Leader / Analyst.
• Carry out any other reasonable instruction from the Project Manager.
• Carry out, in conjunction with the client, leakage interventions briefing/debriefing sessions with the Leakage Technicians.

It is essential that candidates possess the following:
• Full UK driving licence
• NRSWA Unit 2 & Unit 10 Street Works Signing, Lighting and Guarding
• National Water Hygiene

Candidates should also ideally possess:
• NVQ Level 2
• NVQ Level 3

• Demonstrable experience of working within a leakage detection role or similar within the water industry.
• Understanding of water network operations.
• Good problem-solving and organisation skills.
• Proficient in the use of leakage detection equipment, including a correlator, pipe tracer, ground microphone. etc.
• Ability to use and act upon own initiative to overcome problems / issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Willingness to learn and embrace new skills, techniques and working methods.
• Good standard of IT skills and experience of Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to interpret water network schematics and plans.
• Knowledge of water network hydraulics and leak detection techniques.
• Must be prepared to work in a flexible manner.
