LOCATION: Dublin, Cork or Galway

We are currently recruiting a Senior Water & Wastewater Treatment Process Specialist to act as a team leader within our Water Services Department across our offices in Dublin, Cork and Galway.

The successful candidate will become a lead participant in the water team, heading treatment projects, investigations, studies and assessments and providing leadership in our continued focus to meet the demands of major clients in the water services sector.

The successful candidate will be based full-time in their office of choice in Dublin, Cork or Galway.

The Role:

• Managing and contributing to projects within the treatment processes team, with a focus on drinking water and wastewater treatment
• Delivering projects on budget and within scheduled time commitments
• Identifying and delivering innovative solutions, by collecting and analysing information, researching, adapting, and modifying engineering and scientific techniques, preparing drawings, schematics, evaluating process components, resolving design/integration and risk based issues, developing process specifications and performing cost analysis
• Liaising with a broad range of clients and engage in development of positive client relationships
• Contributing to project team performance, by communicating essential information, coordinating actions, obtaining expert inputs, reviewing open issues/action items, sharing information in team meetings while focused on project completion within timelines
• Advancing professional and technical knowledge, by attending professional workshops, reviewing publications, establishing excellent networks and participating in professional societies
• Preparing technical reports and presentations for internal and external use and
• Enhancing our company reputation by taking ownership of new and diverse client requests/challenges, and proactively exploring opportunities to add extra value through innovation

The Candidate should ideally have:

• B.Sc. or B.Eng. in Environmental/Chemical Engineering or B.Sc. in Water/Wastewater Sciences. A post graduate degree would be advantageous
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in water and/or wastewater treatment, with at least 5 years’ experience in drinking water or wastewater treatment applications involving process design on both greenfield and brownfield sites
• Experience in a broad range of processes and operational practices relevant to the water sector
• The ability to apply intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignment
• Excellent communication (both written and verbal), team working and analytical skills
• The ability to lead and motivate, willingly takes ownership of issues and seeks team participation to achieve best solutions
• The ability to identify and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and make recommendations
• The ability to work constructively with clients and devise new approaches to problems encountered
• An understanding of R&D procedures and recognise innovative approaches in water treatment engineering and emerging process technologies
• Excellent IT skills, familiar with relevant computer applications and simulation software
