Here at RPS, we have a fantastic opportunity for a number of Acoustic Logging Technicians to join us, working across the Yorkshire region.

An element of our client’s, Yorkshire Water Services (YWS), current business plan and through to 2025 is a significant reduction to distribution leakage levels. A key part of the strategy to achieve this is the implementation of an acoustic logger programme, targeting specific areas of the distribution network to significantly reduce leak detection times and so savings on water losses. This programme is already underway and now requires expansion.

These new roles will involve the initial deployment of and continued maintenance of a fleet, circa +15,000, of acoustic loggers attached to distribution pipework and fittings ensuring continued communications between site and the YWS 24-hour central control room in Bradford.

For all successful candidates, there will be a suitable period of training and accreditation.

For these exciting roles we are seeking applications from individuals with any previous experience working on and operating water distribution assets.

Role Responsibilities: Main responsibilities will include but is not limited to;

• Working to exacting health and safety standards;
• Deployment and maintenance about client’s acoustic logger fleet, circa +15,000 monitors throughout the Yorkshire region;
• Recording of logger deployment locations, both onsite using equipment scanning functionality and on MS Excel forms;
• The ability to operate water distribution assets in a safe and predictable manner (calm networks);
• Ensuing acoustic monitors can attain a stable GPRS signal.
Other desirable knowledge, skills and attributes include:

• Competent in IT, MS Excel skills would be an advantage;
• Map reading and asset identification;
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively;
• Good communication skills – both written and verbal;
• Sound record keeping skills;
• New Roads and Street Works Act qualification (NRSWA);
• Water Hygiene qualification;
• Basic knowledge of water distribution networks;
• As the role will involve a significant amount of travel throughout the Yorkshire region in a company van, a full driving licence is required.
