RPS is looking for an experienced geo-environmental professional to work within our team providing support and assistance across a range of projects across a wide range of sectors including industrial, infrastructure, residential and commercial sectors.

In the role you will be an integral part of the team delivering contaminated land studies, site investigations and ground engineering projects to support the growth of the business. Our well established team of over 40 practitioners across the UK has very diverse client portfolio and so staff are constantly exposed to stimulating and interesting projects. The position would suit an enthusiastic individual that is looking to join a team to learn and develop further their skills.

The successful candidate will be:-

• A flexible worker willing to attend site works as required;
• An enthusiastic learner looking to develop their skills and knowledge in this area;
• Able to collect and interpret environmental data and information;
• An effective contributor to the overall success of the team;
• Able to present / discuss projects with clients and Regulators; and
• Able to support delivery of innovative, environmental solutions to our clients;

The successful candidate will work in the Site Investigation and Remediation Team in Bristol/Oxford/Birmingham on a range of projects and technical areas including but not limited to:-

• Undertaking site reconnaissance visits and desk studies
• Managing and undertaking geo-environmental intrusive investigations including drilling rigs, excavations, logging, soils sampling etc.
• Undertaking groundwater and gas monitoring programmes
• Organising ground investigations and procuring drilling contractor and laboratory services
• Logging / characterisation of soils and rocks to BS5930, BS 14688, BS14689 and BS22476
• Preparing safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and H&S Plans and working in accordance with the CDM Regulations
• Factual Reporting (Desk Top Studies and Site Investigation Reports), data management
• Preparation of interpretative reports and risk assessment
• Support remediation design and implementation
• General geo-environmental consultancy support
• Prepare proposals with support from senior staff

We actively support our staff perusing chartership and on going professional development .

The role may also necessitate travel outside the UK on occasion and a driving licence is required.
