Job Title: Lead Drainage Investigation Technician – Wastewater Networks
Location: North West London
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: Negotiable
Contract Type: Permanent

RPS wishes to recruit an experienced drainage technician to lead a two-man team carrying out investigation and drain tracing works. The job role focuses on identifying sources of pollution found in local rivers and watercourses via the public surface water drainage network. This is achieved using various drain tracing techniques including lift and look sewer tracing, CCTV surveying and both residential and commercial property surveying using drain tracing dye. Previous experience in a drainage related role is essential.

Due to the nature of the work, flexibility regarding working hours is essential. This includes occasional Saturday work, early starts and late finishes as required. Overtime rates are paid accordingly.

This is a customer facing role requiring excellent customer service skills. Applicants must have exceptional organisational skills and be able to work to deadlines. Please note that the work will be outdoors in all weather conditions and will involve the manual handling of manhole chamber covers and the like.

Applicants must have the ability to complete all the relevant paperwork, annotate plans and communicate relevant information to our administration team and to our clients in a professional manner.

We are looking for individuals with the following attributes:

• Demonstrable experience in a drainage related role
• Detailed knowledge of both public sewer networks and domestic drainage systems
• The ability to accurately navigate the drainage network using the GIS mapping provided
• Excellent problem-solving and accurate record-keeping capabilities
• Excellent drain tracing and mapping skills
• A demonstrable track-record of reliability and flexibility
• Excellent communication and customer facing skills
• A current driving licence
• Relevant qualifications are desirable, including Unit 2 Street works, First Aid etc. although not essential as training can be provided
• CCTV experience an advantage

A company van, fuel card and smart phone will be provided for work use.
