Position Profile

Position Title: Completion/Stimulation Engineer
Reports to: Production Engineering Manager
Location: Calgary, Alberta Canada

Current Position Information: The Completion/Stimulation Engineer is entrusted with fostering positive, long term relationships with new and existing clients. The Production Engineering group undertakes Domestic and International projects that include well design, production optimization, well completion, workover and testing, pressure transient test design and analysis, stimulation design and integrated production modeling. He/She has additional responsibility in assisting RPS in being a firm-of-choice for all staff and clients.

The Role: We are looking for a Completion/Stimulation Engineer with a demonstrable track record of experience and competency in well performance analysis, with a focus on stimulation design and analysis. The individual must be well organized and enjoy working within a team environment both internally and externally for a busy consultancy.

Main Responsibilities: The Completion/Stimulation Engineer is a self starter with strong multi-tasking abilities that enjoys the challenges associated with a fast-paced environment. He/she will perform technical work, while maintaining consistent standards and content for RPS programs and reports. As a key member of the team, he/she will provide feedback to the Project Manager on major project developments, scope changes, challenges, and potential marketing opportunities within client organizations.

• Technical work, as directed by Senior RPS Specialists
• Maintain consistent standards and content for RPS programs and reports
• Market RPS’ technical services within client organizations
• Support RPS engineering staff and other RPS contract service engineers and technologists
• Informal promotion of RPS’ contract and technical services
• Client relationship management
• Write technical papers and attend various technical conferences and meetings
• Obtain and/or maintain professional registration
• Meet or exceed personal billability targets
• Flexible and willing to travel on occasion
• Seek technical advancement with potential to lead and mentor Production Engineering Team

Skills
The successful candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
• B. Sc. with potential for registration as a Professional Engineer
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Results focused team player with a positive attitude
• Deadline driven with the ability to thrive in a fast paced environment
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic work environment and work with minimal supervision
• Proven technical problem solving skills, strong analytical and time management skills
• Strong report writing and presentation skills
• PC literate and familiar with various well performance software applications (WEM, WELLFLOW or POSPER and STIMPLAN)
• Excellent data and information management skills, both manual and electronic. Must be competent using spreadsheet tools
• Production operations oriented Petroleum Engineer with a minimum 7-10 years experience in petroleum engineering within an operating oil company
• Consulting experience would be considered an asset
• All applicants must be legally entitled to live and work in Canada
