LOCATION
Based in Houston, the job will require occasional travel both on and offshore in US and worldwide

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are a well established consultancy and specialise in providing world wide Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) support to a wide range of industry sectors including: Petroleum exploration and production operations (on and offshore); Oil, gas and gas liquids processing, transportation and distribution; Project construction and decommissioning; Power generation; Refining and chemicals; Petroleum marketing and distribution, Renewables.

As a result of our continuing growth we have a vacancy in our Houston office for a senior safety engineer to join our HSE & Risk Management section to support and grow our services in the following areas:
 HAZIDs, HAZOPS, SIL, LOPA, QRA and general risk assessments
 Formal Safety Assessments/Safety Cases
 Safety management systems

You will be a senior safety engineer with experience in the wider HSE consultancy field as well as your safety engineering expertise and consequently you will be contributing to our broad-based SHE services to assist companies throughout the complete project life cycle (from license application to de-commissioning). These include: Workplace health and safety services; Policy and management system development; risk and reliability assessments and management plans; Emergency response and contingency plans; Communication and training programs; Reviews and audits; Legislative review and permitting; Liaison with regulatory authorities.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
The key requirements of the post are:
 A graduate in a mathematical, scientific or engineering discipline with a professional engineering qualification
 10 to 15 years safety engineering experience in hazard management and risk analysis, ideally including carrying out: HAZIDs, HAZOPS, FMEA’s, consequence modelling and QRA’s
 Previous experience of the oil and gas industry ideally in an operational and / or project role
 Experience in the development / management of safety cases
 Effective leader / project manager
 A self starter and able to manage and grow a team
 Able to communicate well with stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing
 Ability to market, develop and grow the business.
