RPS GROUP PLC – Energy Division
The RPS Group is a planning and development, energy resources and environmental consultancy with over 3,200 staff worldwide. RPS Energy is a multi-disciplinary consultancy, providing Technical, Commercial and Project Management Support services in the areas of oil and gas operations, geoscience, petroleum engineering and HS&E to the energy sector worldwide. RPS Energy services the oil and gas, renewables and nuclear sectors from operating bases in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and Malaysia.



Role: Downstream Analyst

Reports to: Sector Director
Location: London
Proposition: To sustain and significantly grow the provision of consultancy services and provide input to the long-term management strategy.

Main Responsibilities
• To provide commercial, analytical and research support to the Downstream Practice of RPS Energy
• To be accountable for the quarterly forecast pricing process and database for RPS Energy – this will cover multiple grades of crude oil, natural gas, LNG, key petrochemicals, and key oil products
• To provide adhoc support to the Gas team and other parts of RPS Energy as required, and where time permits

Experience Required
The candidate should possess:
• Good engineering an science degree(s)
• High quality report writing skills
• Excel: High level of capability
• PowerPoint: High level of capability
• Financial analysis (economic rates of return, financial modelling): Medium capability
• Commercial Analysis (research and strategy assessment): Medium capability
• 5 years commercial experience in industry
• Excellent communication skills
• Energy and enthusiasm, with a focus on results and the ability to work effectively on your own as well as with different multi-national organisations
